FAQ

Q. Can you work on my Personal Computer without having to come to my office or home?
A. Yes. In most cases, Virtual PC Technician can work on your Personal Computer remotely. Remote control technology has evolved to the point that it's now practical and affordable. The default case for most tasks is to perform them remotely unless it's absolutely necessary for me to be on your premises to complete the tasks.

Q. Can I request that you come to my office or home so I watch you work?
A. In general, Yes, as long as your location is in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. However, several issues will come into play. The default case is to perform all tasks remotely UNLESS it is absolutely necessary for me to be on your premises to complete the tasks. For tasks where it's absolutely necessary for me to be on your premises there is no additional service charge. For those tasks that can be completed remotely, but you just want me to be present, the service charges will be higher to account for transportation costs as well as the dedicated travel and office time where other clients cannot be serviced.

Q. What if I ask you to do some work for me and you aren't capable of completing the job?
A. First, you pay only for actual services received. If the service request contains multiple tasks, you pay only for those tasks which were completed. Second, if a service request cannot be fully completed, Virtual PC Technician will recommend another professional organization that can resolve the specific issues. Third, service charges for tasks not completed by Virtual PC Technician will be refunded.

Q. How do I know in advance what the service charges will be?
A. All services have either a fixed cost associated with them or they are billed at a specific hourly rate.

Q. What if I don't pay for the services I've received from Virtual PC Technician?
A. All requests for service and the resulting service charges are negotiated, agreed upon, and paid in advance.

Q. Can all my service requests be fully completed in the same day?
A. In most cases, Yes. However, it really depends on exactly what service your Personal Computer requires and when I can begin work. Simple tasks such as configuration changes or upgrades of existing programs can be completed fairly quickly. Other tasks, such as a complete reinstall of your operating system along with all your applications will require that I take possession of your Personal Computer and will require a couple of days to complete.
